Arlene M. Clark of Grand Junction passed away February 8th, 2016 at Larchwood Inn where she made her home for the past four years. She was born on June 23, 1926 in Sutherland, Nebraska to Floyd and Nina (Wilcott) Humphrey.

Arlene graduated from Grand Junction High School in 1947 and married Marvin Booth that same year. A daughter, Rhonda, was born to that marriage which later ended in divorce. In 1975, she married Gene Clark of Olathe, Colorado. He survives.

Arlene worked for Mountain Bell Telephone and retired from that company. She enjoyed traveling, crafting, reading, cooking, and time spent with friends and family. Raising her daughter alone, she worked diligently to give her only child the best life possible. A woman of great personal faith, Arlene found comfort and strength in life’s many challenges through her belief in God.

In addition to her husband, Gene, Arlene is survived by her daughter Rhonda Booth Hovendick of Longmont, Colorado, and step – children Butch Clark (Becky) of Montrose, Cindy Clark and Patricia Robinson both of Grand Junction and Phillip Clark of Jacksonville, FL. Her grandchildren, Briana (Jeff) of Arvada, Colorado and Cole (Karly) of Frederick, Colorado also survives her as well as nine grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.

Her parents as well as son-in-law, Cody Hovendick, preceded her in death.

Cremation has been entrusted to Crippin Funeral Home of Montrose. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, February 13, 2016 at the Larchwood Inn Chapel at 10:00 AM.

The Hovendick and Clark families wish to express their heartfelt appreciation for the loving care given to Arlene by the Larchwood staff and the angels of HopeWest Hospice team who stepped in to bless her final days.
