Montrose native, Anthony “Tony” Rose, age 69, passed on peacefully Sunday morning, January 4, 2015 at St. Marys hospital, in Grand Junction Colorado.

Anthony, the son of Ernest R. Ronzio and June I. Scheibler, was born April 2, 1945, in Montrose, CO.  He attended school at Montrose High and served in the US Navy aboard the USS Franklin D Roosevelt.

In the year 1967 he entered into marriage with Diane Pryor and became the proud father of 3 children.  They were divorced in 1974 and he later married Connie G. Staser.

His occupation in life was a route salesman and supervisor for Holsum Bread.  He also had an entrepreneurial spirit; he owned a local convenience store for 10 years and had numerous rental properties.

Anthony was a big hearted man that enjoyed so many things about life.  Hunting, fishing, family, and friends were is main priorities.  He enjoyed traveling to Texas for boar hunting, to the northwest, Canada, and Alaska for fishing, and casinos were a favorite pastime, along any journey.

Surviving family members who were blessed and honored to share Anthony’s life includes one brother and two sisters; Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Ronzio (Connie Smith) of Montrose CO, Mr. and Mrs. Dan Mestas (Gayle Rose) of Pueblo, CO, Mr. and Mrs. Bill Franklin (Roxanne Rose) Boise, ID;  three children,  Kimberly English (Rose) of Montrose, CO,  Kindra Marts (Rose) of Kellyville, OK and Kyle Rose of Montrose, CO; Seven grandchildren,  Christopher Dickerson of Las Animas, CO, Brian Marts of Kellyville, OK, Cory English of Montrose, CO,  Ryan Marts of Kellyville, OK, Caleigh English of Montrose CO, Alec Rose of Grand Junction, CO and Breana Marts of Kellyville, OK.

Anthony was preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Langfrey Ronzio and his wife, Connie G. Rose.

Friends and Family that were blessed to have had the opportunity to be part of his life will forever hold the memories and moments close to their hearts.

A memorial service will be held at Crippin Funeral Home, 802 E. Main Street, on Thursday January 8th at 11:00 a.m.   He will be laid to rest with military honors at Grandview Cemetery.  Following both services a reception for Anthony’s family and friends will be held at the Turn of the Century, 117 North 4th Street, Montrose, Colorado.  Arrangements are under the care of Crippin Funeral Home & Crematory, Montrose, Colorado
