Annie Deltondo (Massarotti)

May 31, 1920 — June 11, 2016

 

Annie Deltondo, 96, died peacefully at her home Saturday June 11, 2016.

Annie was born on May 31, 1920  near the town of Noel, Colorado ,which is on top of Dallas Divide, to John and Adelina (DeJulio) Massarotti. She married Joe Deltondo on April 7,1940 In Montrose, Colorado. The couple was blessed with one child, William (Bill) Gene Deltondo.

Annie, warmly known by many as Auntie Annie, was a loving, devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and aunt and she will be greatly missed.

She will be dearly remembered for her love, warmth, kindness and generosity. She always had a sweet smile on her face and made people feel special and loved. . She never forgot an Anniversary. She enjoyed gardening, cooking for and spending time with her family and friends. Her grandchildren and great grandchildren cherished the time she spent with them playing cards, cooking for them, going in the ministry, and teaching them to cook.

All who knew Annie especially enjoyed her homemade Italian cookies (pizelles), sponge cake (for which she won a first place prize) pies, cookies, cream puffs, ravioli and gnocchi.

Annie was one of Jehovah’s Witnesses and loved reading the Bible. She especially  enjoyed  volunteering her time to share with others the comforting hope for the future found in the Bible such as when “death will be no more, neither will mourning, nor outcry nor pain be anymore” Revelation 21:3,4.

Annie’s family appreciates the great spiritual heritage she provided for her family sharing with and helping them to learn Bible truths. They look forward to seeing her again because God has promised that all those in the Memorial tombs will hear his voice and come out. John 5:28,29.

Survivors grateful to have shared Annie’s life include her son, Bill (Georgia) Deltondo; four grandchildren, Donna (Steve) Hay of Paradise Valley, AZ,  Darren (Kendra) Deltondo of Grand Junction, CO, Lori (Danniel) Mills of Montrose, CO, April (Tobias) Magdaleno of Montrose CO; and three great-grandchildren, Alicia (Brad) Rhodes of Phoenix, AZ,  Mason Mills of Montrose, CO and Jovan Magdaleno of Montrose, CO; two Nephews, Angelo Abramo of Montrose Co, and Johnny Massarotti of Yorktown VA and one Niece, Rose Marie Abramo of Montrose, CO.

Annie was preceded in death by her husband Joe Deltondo; her parents John and Adelina Massarottii; her three brothers, Dominick Massarotti, Jim Massarotti, and Louis Massarotti; two sisters, Edith Ray, and Mary Abramo. and a granddaughter, Shelley Rene Deltondo.

A memorial service in remembrance of Annie’s life will be officiated by minister Jason Platzer on Saturday, June 25, 2016 at  2 p.m. at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses, 16672 Woodgate Road, Montrose, CO.  Burial will take place at Cedar Creek Cemetery, in Montrose.  Crippin Funeral Home & Crematory in Montrose is assisting the family.
