Anna Belle Woodard, age 94, passed away on January 16, 2018 at the San Juan Living Center in Montrose, Colorado. Anna was born on August 5, 1923 in Walters, Oklahoma to James Walter and Bertha (Davidson) Rowan. On June 5, 1940 Anna married James Lee Turriff in Kingfisher, Oklahoma. To this union they had eight children, they celebrated 33 years together before James’ passing in 1973. Anna later remarried to Sherman Woodard and celebrated three years before his passing in 1986. Anna loved fishing and spending her days with her family and friends. She was a member of the New Hope Pentecostal Church of God in Naturita, Colorado.
Anna is survived by her daughters Shirley Burleson of Hanford, CA; Roberta (John) White of Naturita, CO; 15 Grandchildren; 29 Great-Grandchildren; and 35 Great-Great Grandchildren. Anna is preceded in death by her parents James and Bertha Rowan; her husband’s James Turriff and Sherman Woodard; her children, Ronald Turriff; David Turriff; Linda Morrow; Martha Turriff; Donald Turriff; James “Jimmy” Turriff.
At Anna’s request, cremation has taken place, and a Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. Arrangements are under the care of Crippin Funeral Home and Crematory.
