Agnes Williams (Krupitzer)

June 21, 1930 — May 3, 2019

Agnes “Aggie” Williams, age 88, passed away peacefully at home, on May 3, 2019, surrounded by her family. She left this life showing love, grace and an unshakable faith knowing that she was heading to her eternal home. Days before her passing, Aggie said how grateful she was to God for the beautiful life He gave her. She did indeed have a beautiful life. One filled with love, laughter, friends and family.

Aggie, the youngest of seven children, was born in Clawson, MI on June 21, 1930 to Charles Krupitzer and Anna Hogrebe Krupitzer. As the baby of the family, she quickly became a favorite among her brothers and sisters; their attention and unwavering support taught her early on about the importance of family. She carried that love of family throughout her life. Many holidays were celebrated with her brothers, sisters and any number of her 30 plus nieces and nephews. Whether it was for a pick-up baseball game, a bonfire or a BBQ, it was a priority that everyone come together.

Aggie met her husband, David Williams in 1951 at the Clawson Bowling Alley. They married August 29, 1953 and together raised their four children in Berkley, MI. they were both active in the community; especially in sports. Their son’s all played little league baseball and Aggie wanted the same opportunities for her daughter as well as the local girls. In the early 70’s, together with a group of friends, she established ‘The Berkley Mom’s Club;’ A softball league for girls ranging from ages 8 to 18 years that is still in existence today. It was during this time that she discovered how much she loved working with kids. It was not unusual for the William’s house to be jam packed with her kids and their friends. Aggie loved a full house!

In 1978 Aggie and Dave moved to Saginaw, MI. While in Saginaw, Aggie worked at the Michigan Lutheran Seminary which she would later describe this as her most favorite job. Her own children were grown and out of the house, and she loved the idea of being there for a whole new generation of teens; they equally adored her. Aggie’s sense of humor and approachable personality made her a favorite amongst the students, most of whom were experiencing their first time away from home. She was open-minded, a good listener, and readily shared her wisdom in her own special, down-to-earth manner.

After six years in Saginaw, both Dave and Aggie felt it was time to head west. They loaded up their possessions and moved to Colorado Springs, CO. They both loved the mountains, dry climate and wanted to be closer to their grandchildren. Weekends were often spent watching her beloved (albeit sometimes frustrating) Colorado Rockies, attending games at the Sky Sox stadium, golfing, gardening and family BBQ’s. Dave and Aggie had 57 wonderful years together. In 2010, Aggie’s life would change once again. With the passing of her husband Dave, she loaded up her belongings and moved to Montrose, CO to live with her daughter and son-in-law.

Giving up a home and a life she knew so well at 81 would be a tough change for anyone. But in typical Aggie fashion, she accepted a new normal with her signature grace and excitement. She loved Montrose and made wonderful friends. She stayed active by gardening, cooking and volunteering for various organizations including HopeWest Hospice. She had a very kind heart and sought out ways to help out wherever she could. Aggie would always say how lucky she was to live in such a beautiful area.

Aggie leaves behind her four beloved children Dave (Terry) Williams, Steve (Peggy) Williams, Denise (Jerry) Quinn, Rick (Joan) Williams, six grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, a brother Bob (Marion) Krupitzer, sister Marie (Dan) Valko and too many nieces, nephews and friends to count. She is preceded in death by her husband, Dave Williams, parents, Charles and Anna Krupitzer, three sisters Alma (Larry) Hadley, Eileen (Dick) Haney, Rosie Krupitzer, and one brother Charles Krupitzer.

Please join us on May 23rd, 10 am at St Mary Church, 1855 St Mary’s Drive, Montrose, CO.   Immediately following a luncheon in her honor will be held in the parish hall.

Aggie’s cremains will be placed with her husbands at a later date.
