Agnes M. Haston

Agnes M. Haston, age 88, went to be with her heavenly father on Jan. 8, 2013 at Horizon’s Care Center in Eckert, CO.  Agnes was born June 21, 1924 to Frank and Agnes (Gahn) Ball in Denver, CO.  She spent her childhood in Arvada, CO., and where she graduated from high school.   She married Glen Haston on Oct. 13, 1951 in Englewood, CO.

Agnes was employed as a Surgical Aide at Santa Rosa Memorial Hospital in Santa Rosa, CA., for 17 years, prior to her retirement.  Agnes and Glen moved from California to Montrose in June 1979, where they made their home for many years.  Glen preceded Agnes in death on June 28, 1989 in Montrose.  In 2008, Agnes moved to Delta area to be closer to family and where she has made her home until her time of death.
Agnes was a member of the Seventh-Day Adventist Church.  Her pride and joy were her loving grandchildren and great-grandchildren.  She loved to spend time with them and they will miss her.   Agnes enjoyed cooking, swimming, reading and exercise.

Surviving family members include her children, Ralph Eugene Hughes, Sharon Louise Waltz of Eldorado Hills, CA., Keith D. (Pam) Hughes of Redding, CA., Sandra Faye Martin of Delta, CO., Glenda Joyce Major of Delta, CO; and one sister Annie Tetrault of Denver, CO; Grandchildren Jesse (Susana) Chaney, Angela Joy (Steve) Whitlock, Jen Gallegos, Lacy (Brian) Beckham, Sara Major, Andrew Major, Elyce Ralph, Bobby Ralph, Mike (Jamie) Hughes, Matt (Shawna) Hughes, Gary (Kristi) Waltz and Cristina Waltz; and 16 Great-Grandchildren with one more on the way; along with numerous nieces and nephews.  Agnes was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one daughter Debbie Kaye, two sisters Blanche and Gertie, two brothers Donald and Eugene.

A Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, January 12, 2013 at 2:00 P.M. with a visitation for family and friends from 1:00 to 2:00 PM prior to the service on Saturday.  Interment will follow the service at Grand View Cemetery, West of Montrose, CO.  Arrangements are under the direction of Crippin Funeral Home & Crematory, Montrose, Co.
