Agnes Helen Slyhoff

Agnes Helen Slyhoff, age 90, passed away Sunday evening, September 20, 2015, at the San Juan Living Center. She was born to Frank and Ida (Andrist) Crowl on February 8, 1925 in St. Francis, Kansas. She was welcomed by sisters Viola, Lola, and bother Raymond. In November 1925 the family came down with scarlet fever. Lola and Raymond passed away from the fever. She was preceded in death by her two sisters Lila (Wayne) Goodell, Viola (Bill) Burk, and brother Dale Crowl, great grandson Gage Manes. She is survived by her husband Billy Slyhoff, son Rod (Alice) Slyhoff of Pueblo, daughter Rhonda (Greg) Bohte of Clifton, grandchildren Katrina (Eric) Baker of Buena Vista, Marcy (Chad) Manes of Pueblo, Kym (Corey) Topaha of Farmington, NM, and Billy Bohte. Great grandchildren Kendra, Zane and Tristyn Baker, Amryn and Caden Manes, Tobie, Adrianna and Marisa Topaha.
Agnes married Billy on April 3, 1947 in St. Francis, KS. They lived in Kansas, Nebraska, Utah, Wyoming, and Colorado as Billy was employed by the Bureau of Reclamation and worked erecting dams. After Billy retired, Agnes and Billy worked at the Elks Lodge serving weekend meals, she also worked for Russell Stover Candies. She took great care of her home and yard, especially the rose bushes and was a great cook. She enjoyed picnics, staying in the cabin at Blue Mesa, playing pinochle, dominoes, and many other games.
