Ruth Marie (Dicamillo) Frigetto
December 22, 1930 ~ March 25, 2018
Ruth Marie (Dicamillo) Frigetto passed away of natural causes on Sunday March 25th, 2018 surrounded by family at Valley Manor in Montrose, Colorado at the age of 87.
Ruth was born on December 22nd, 1930 in Montrose, Colorado to Louie and Maria Dicamillo, which is where she spent her entire life. She was raised on a farm east of town with her brothers and sisters, where they grew various crops. She was introduced to Avellino “Deno” Frigetto by her brother Sam, she reluctantly agreed to a first date. She didn’t know it at the time, but that first date fishing trip was the first page in a long and beautiful love story with the love of her life. She married Deno in 1949 at Saint Mary’s Catholic church. Ruth and Deno had 4 children together and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Nothing made Ruth happier than being surrounded by the sounds and laughter of her family, children playing at her feet and a pot of spaghetti sauce on the stove. Ruth was a loving mother and grandmother, as long as you washed your hands after touching the dog. Ruth worked for Montrose County School District for 20 years as a cook, she was a favorite among the students, because just like every Italian grandmother, she’d pile your plate a little extra high with food whether you asked for it or not. Ruth had an unwaverable faith and love for God and was a proud member of the Catholic community. Her family is comforted knowing that her soul is at peace.
Ruth is preceded in death by her parents Louie Dicamillo and Maria Dicamillo, her husband Deno, her siblings Joe, Raymond, Dominic, Pete, Louie and Sam Dicamillo, Frances Sulley, Lena Sulley, Angelina DeJulio, Rose McKean and granddaughter Lisa Curtis.
She is survived by her children, Jackie Cooper (Gary Cooper), Allen Frigetto, Debbie Curtis (Maurie Curtis) and Steve Frigetto. Also by her grandchildren, Lezley Blood (Patrick Blood) L.J. Cooper (Denise Cooper) Lawna Curtis, Casey Frigetto, Susie Frigetto, Kris Frigetto (Susan Frigetto), Shelly Frigetto, Dusty Frigetto and Brent Frigetto. She also leaves behind many great-grandchildren, Breanna Frigetto, Brittany Frigetto, Duke Frigetto, Anthony McEachern, Daisy McEachern, Grace Frigetto, Drake Frigetto, Taylor Cooper, Levi Cooper, Lucca Blood, Chance Blood, Deno Scott, Cash Scott, JJ LeFlore, Jayden Frigetto, Saylor Tidwell and Keegan Tidwell and great-great granddaughter Kinzley Hall.
A Vigil and Rosary will be held Monday April 2nd at 6:00 P.M. at Crippin Funeral Home Chapel. A Funeral Mass is scheduled for Tuesday April 3rd at 10:00 A.M. at Saint Mary Catholic Church in Montrose. Interment will follow the mass at Valley Lawn Cemetery, south of Montrose, with a reception to follow at the Montrose Elks Lodge. In lieu of flowers donations can be made in Ruth’s name to The Dolphin House, 735 S. 1st Street, Montrose, Co. 81401. Crippin Funeral Home & Crematory in Montrose is assisting the family.
