Martha Diaz Villafana, age 62, went to be with the Lord on February 8, 2017 in the comforts of her home in Montrose, Colorado. Martha was born on January 25, 1955 in La Jollita de Villafana, Municipio de Salamanca, Guanajuato, Mexico, to Manuel and Catalina (Robles) Villafana.  Martha grew up in Mexico and married Juan Diaz on August 26, 1977 in Irapuato, Guenajuato, Mexico. Martha was devoted to her family and her Lord and Savior. Martha was the strongest, bravest, and best person her family knew. She will be missed greatly by her family, as well as the American and Mexican community. She wasn’t afraid to help anyone in need and was the first to volunteer to help. She lost her battle with cancer, but her spirit still lives in her children and grandchildren.

Martha is survived by her husband Juan Diaz of Montrose, CO; her sons Juan (Elizabeth Bridges) Diaz Jr. of Montrose, CO; George Diaz of Montrose, CO; Steve Diaz of Ft. Collins, CO; Christopher Diaz of Montrose, CO; her daughters, Martha (Burt) Diaz-Nishimura of Hawaii; Josephine (Jesse Nichols) Diaz of Hawaii; Crystal (Alex Detwieler) Diaz of Lakewood, CO; and 10 grandchildren Aurora Diaz, Juan Diaz III, Tristen Diaz, Nyssa Diaz, Illeana Diaz, Ysadora Diaz, Athena Diaz, Gabriella Diaz, Bryssa Diaz, and Nayeli Nichols.

There will be a Vigil and Rosary on Monday, February 13, 2017 at 7:00 p.m. at Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church in Olathe, CO. A Funeral Mass will be Tuesday, February 14, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church, with burial to follow at Olathe Cemetery. Arrangements are under the care of Crippin Funeral Home and Crematory. (970) 249-2121
