MARJORIE DORIS (KNIGHT) BELL

March 8, 1923 — January 16, 2018

Marjorie D. Bell passed away January 16, 2018 at the Valley Manor Care Center, Montrose, Colorado with her family by her side. She was 94 years old.
Marge was born to John and Marcia Knight in Sargent, Nebraska. After graduating from Sargent High School in 1941, the Grand Island Business School in 1942, Marge worked at the Pentagon in Washington D. C. for a year before her marriage. Marge married Franklin R. Bell, her high school sweetheart on November 21, 1943. Marge and Frank were married 53 years until Frank’s death on September 27, 1997.
Marge and Frank moved to Montrose in 1955. Marge held several jobs working for Burtis Brothers, the School District and the Montrose County Extension office, before buying the Spot which they operated for five years with Marge as the chief cook and bottle washer. After they sold the Spot, Marge worked for the Western Area Power Association until her retirement in November 1990. Marge loved to paint and do crafts and was an avid reader. She painted and decorated many bird houses for family and friends. She hated that she lost her sight to macular degeneration which limited her doing the things she loved.
Marge and Frank had three children. Marcia Ann (Charles) Hunter, Victor Ray (Linda) Bell III, and Doris Lynn Johnson, grandchildren Monica Lynn (Roy) Linsacum, Melissa Ann (Danny) Ponce, Michael Bell, Tricia Stack, Jack Douglas (Mindy) Baldwin and step grandchildren Debbie Nelson (deceased), Scott (Debra) Hunter and Donna Corona. She also had 15 great grandchildren and 13 great, great-grandchildren.
Marge was preceded in death by her husband, parents, her only brother Phillip Knight and her son-law Quimby Johnson.
