Maria Erepina “Edith” Ann Madril Lopez

July 20,1924 – April 27, 2016.

As the matriarch of the Lopez family we are sad to announce the passing of our mother Edith Lopez. She passed away April27, 2016 at Delta County Memorial Hospital. She was 91 years of age. Edith was born to Delfido Jose Madril and Sophia Sanderval Madril in Capulin, Colorado. She was the seventh child out of ten children. She married Ramon I. Lopez in Montrose, Colorado and they later moved to Dragerton, Utah where they lived for twenty years. They later moved back to Colorado where they made their home in Paonia for forty six years. She was a homemaker and housewife and loved spending time with her family. Her many interests were cooking, crocheting, sewing and gardening.

Edith is survived by her children Tony J.(Carol) Lopez of Mesquite NV, Jonathan W. Lopez, Duane A. Lopez of Paonia, CO, Allen B.(Janet) Lopez of Grand Junction, CO, Carol E. Lopez, daughter-in-law of Salt Lake City, Utah. She was blessed with ten grandchildren, sixteen great grandchildren, three great-great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. Edith was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, her children, a son Ramon Valentin “Sonny” Lopez, a daughter Veronica Joyce Lopez and son Delfido Gilberto Lopez. Brothers and sisters Cedilla Madril War, Francisco Madril, Edmundo Madril, Manuel Madril, Costancia Madril, Fermin Madril, Juan Madril, Jose Madril, Epifanio Madril.  Crippin Funeral Home & Crematory in Montrose is assisting the family.
