Julianne Nelson was born November 25, 1927 to Dan H. and Mary (Atkinson) Hughes in Montrose, Colorado. She spent her childhood and received her education in Montrose and graduated from St. Mary’s Academy in Lexington, Kansas. Julianne was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Montrose.

Surviving family members include two sons, Ted and Bob Nelson of Montrose; three daughters, Noreen Flower, Beth Loesch, and Carol Anders all of Montrose; and one sister, Virginia Bunbery of Antigonish, Nova Scotia; 10 grandchildren;15 great-grandchildren; and one great great grandchild. Julianne was preceded in death by her parents, five brothers Dan Hughes Jr., Marshall, Jack, Charles, and Joe Hughes, son Tim Nelson, and granddaughter, Amy Holderman.

A Funeral Mass will be held Tuesday, October 13, 2015 at 10:00am at St. Mary Catholic Church in Montrose. Rite of Committal will follow the Mass at Cedar Cemetery in Montrose. Arrangements are under the care of Crippin Funeral Home.
