Geneva Dewanda Tatman (Quigley)

Geneva Dewanda Tatman, age 97, of Montrose died April 19, 2017 at Brookdale Sunrise Creek Assisted Living in Montrose. Geneva was born June 17, 1919 in Corning, Arkansas to Fred and Idabelle (Ivy) Quigley.

She was united in marriage with Dallas C. Tatman on March 12, 1938 in Willspoint, Texas. Geneva and Dallas moved to Coal Creek area (Montrose) in 1940 and lived there for 47 years, retired and moved to Montrose. They shared 67 years together.

Geneva was a housewife and mother. She was a member of the Montrose Christian Church; the Social Hour Club; and a member of the Rebekah Lodge since 1947. Her special interests in her life included gardening, flowers, cooking, canning, sewing and ceramics. She also loved her time spent with friends and family.

Surviving family members include her son, Charles Tatman and wife MaryAnn of Montrose; seven grandchildren, which include Derick Tatman, Denver, Co; Laura Tatman, Denver, Co; Amy Romero, Montrose, Co; Sara Mann, Texas; Lyndon Mock and wife Phyllis of Nebraska, and Michael Mock and wife Kristy, of Aurora, Co; 13 great-grandchildren; and 12 great-great-grandchildren. Additional family members include one step-brother Tom Quigley of Missouri; and step-sister, Rosella Rasmussen of Missouri and two nieces. Geneva was preceded in death by both parents, her husband, Dallas (2006), her daughter, Wanda Pierson (2010), one step brother, Paul Quigley.
