Elmer De Herrera, 75, of Grand Junction, Colorado passed away peacefully at Hope West Hospice Care Center, in Grand Junction on November 29, 2016.

Elmer was born Nov. 9, 1941 in Costilla, NM to Elizardo De Herrera and Clorinda De Herrera, he lived most of his life in Montrose and spent the last 12 years in Grand Junction, CO. He married Mary Sandoval June 30, 1962. Who has preceded him in death on Sept. 21, 2006.

Elmer was a very loving husband, father, brother, grandfather, friend and extremely generous to a fault.  He was proud of his three children Karrie Martinez (Robert) of Thornton, CO, Terry De Herrera (Beth) of Grand Junction, CO, Sherry De Herrera of Thornton, CO and his grandchildren Ryan De Herrera of Grand Junction, Devon De Herrera of Thornton, CO, Mariah Martinez of Estancia, New Mexico, Ellie De Herrera and Grace De Herrera of Grand Junction, CO.  He is survived by his sisters Aggie Roybal (Don) of CO Springs, Jenny Martinez (Pete) of Montrose, Priscilla Sandoval (Louie) of Montrose, Margie Segafredo (Primo) of Mississippi and Marilyn Martinez of Montrose with his brother Leroy who preceded him in death.

A Vigil will be held Crippin Funeral Home Chapel on Tuesday, December 6, 2016 at 6:00pm.  Funeral services will be Wednesday, December 7, 2016 at St Mary’s Catholic Church in Montrose, Wednesday, December 7, 2016 @ 11:00am.   Elmer (dad) will be laid to rest at Grand View Cemetery, west of Montrose  A special thank you to Hope West Hospice Care for their loving care and support, and also to Crippin Funeral home for all the arrangements.
