Edward “Denny” Keller, age 69, lifetime Montrose resident, passed away February 21, 2018 at his home. He was born to Edward and Marguerite (Smith) Keller Jr. in Montrose.
Following graduation from Montrose High School, he went on to college for three years. Denny served his country in the United States Army in Germany during the Vietnam War and was honorably discharged at the age of 28. He married Barbara L. Champion on December 22, 1972 in Kalamazoo, Michigan.
Denny was a sheep rancher for most of his life and loved the outdoors. He was a member of the Montrose Christian Church, the Wool Growers Association and the F.F.A. in his younger years. Denny was very proud that his family was fourth generation as residence of Montrose.
Surviving family members include his beloved wife, Barbara of the family home; children Edward Mark (Melissa) Keller of Montrose, Craig (Esther) Keller of Ft. Worth, TX; Keven Keller of Page, AZ; one sister Patricia Steward of Missouri; six grandchildren Joshua, Rachel, Matthew, Collin, Jini and Sini Keller.
A Memorial Service in memory of Denny will be held on Monday, February 26, 2018 at 10:30 A.M. at Montrose Christian Church. The service will conclude at the church, with a reception to follow in Fellowship Hall. Inurnment will be held at Valley Lawn Cemetery at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Multiple Sclerosis Foundation, 6520 North Andrews Avenue, Fort Lauderdale, FL 33309-2132 or Hope West Hospice, 725 S. 4th Street, Montrose, Co. 81401. Crippin Funeral Home & Crematory in Montrose is assisting the family.
