Donald Dennis Tunget

Donald Dennis Tunget passed away on March 18, 2016 at his home in Olathe, Colorado.  He was 68 years old.  Don was born in Montrose, Colorado on January 21, 1948 to Evelyn Pettis Tunget and Chester Tunget.  The Family moved to the present home site in Olathe when he was 18 months old.  Don liked to visit other places but his roots were deep at home and home was his favorite place to be.  He enjoyed farm life with his family growing up.  He also enjoyed hunting, fishing, being outdoors, gardening, wood carving, tying fishing flies, and reading about history of the local area.  He graduated from Olathe High School in 1967.  In 1968 he married Mary Alice Rogers.  They had four children; Eric Tunget (wife Joan); Richard Tunget  (wife Kelly); Dennis Tunget (wife Kimberly); and a daughter Alice Johnston (husband Davy).  He was also blessed with four Grand-sons Jeremy, Zachary, Ethan, and Jacob, and three grand-daughters Morgan, Susan and Erin, as well as some step grandkids.  He also had one great-grand-daughter.  Don served in the Army during the Vietnam War until 1970.  We realized he was sick when he came home and as the years went by his health got worse, but he was never one to complain.  Don was always loving and supportive of his family in what ever they wanted to do and cheered us on.  He is survived by his wife, children, and grandkids as well as his brother Arnold Tunget (wife Ellie) of Delta, Colorado.  He was preceded in death by both his parents and his brother Lloyd Byron Tunget.

A Funeral Service in celebration of Donald’s life will be held on Thursday, March 24, 2016 at 10:30 A.M. at Crippin Funeral Home Chapel.   A Graveside service with Military Honors will follow the service at the Olathe Cemetery, in Olathe, Colorado.  Crippin Funeral Home & Crematory, in Montrose is assisting the family.
