Densel Paul McFadden was born July 23, 1932 at Silver Hill, West Virginia to Timothy Ross McFadden and Millie Yoho McFadden. He married his wife Jane March 4, 1952.  She survives along with son and daughter-in-law, David and Darla of Montrose, Colorado.  Surviving also are his three brothers, Lotus, Ray, and Worley and one sister, Naomi Miller who all live in the West Virginia area. Deceased are two brothers, Sammy and Delbert and one sister, Edie Cecil.

He was a Korean War veteran, earning the Bronze Star at the age of 18. His education included a B.A. Degree from Olivet Nazarene University, an M.A., from The University of Texas at El Paso. He spent six years pastoring. He changed his career to teaching due to his wife’s health. He retired in 1996 after 32 years with the El Paso School District.

He moved to Montrose in 2003. His love of hiking and walking with his son and enjoying the beautiful sunsets and helping his wife accomplish her decorating projects was his joy.

A visitation for family and friends will be held Thursday evening September 11th, at 7:00 pm at the Crippin Funeral Home Chapel. A celebration of Densel’s life will be held on Friday, September 12, 2014 at 2:00 pm at First Church of the Nazarene, South 12th Street in Montrose. Interment will follow the service at Grand View Cemetery, Montrose, Colorado. Arrangements are under the direction of Crippin Funeral Home in Montrose.
