Clinton Leroy Oliver

Clint Oliver, 81, of Paradox, Colo., passed away peacefully Friday, Oct. 2, 2015, surrounded by his family in Salt Lake City, Utah at the Huntsman Cancer Institute.

Clinton Leroy Oliver was born in Montrose, Colo., Nov. 23, 1933, to Dwight Oliver and Violet Snyder Oliver. He spent most of his childhood in Paradox and graduated from Norwood High School in 1951.

Clint married Virginia McNeeley, “the most beautiful girl he had ever seen” on April 1, 1954, in Aztec, N.M. Clint and Virginia made their home in Paradox where they raised five children and shared 49 wonderful years of marriage before Virginia passed away in 2003.

Clint was a farmer and rancher, he worked as a water commissioner for the Colorado Division of Water Resources for 32 years, and worked in the uranium mining industry for many years as well.

Throughout his life he was very involved in the Paradox community, serving as a board member and officer of the Pipeline Co. the Canal and Reservoir Co., and the Water Conservancy District. He also always made time to help his friends and neighbors in the valley.

Above all he was a devoted family man. Clint was the best husband, father and grandfather than anyone could have asked for, and he loved nothing more than being surrounded by his family.

Surviving family members who were proud to have shared in his life include four sons: Duane Oliver and wife Cindy of Paradox; Terry Oliver of Independence, Kan.; Fred Oliver and wife Francie, of Eagle, Ida.; and Robert Oliver of Boise, Ida.; one daughter, Kim and husband Joseph Weimer, of Nucla, Colo.; and 13 grandchildren; Amanda, Duane Jr., Travis, Casey, Ryan, Kyndal, Mikelle, Chase, Darby, Sydney, Tyler, Logan and Morgan; and two great-grandchildren Conner and Olivia. Other family survivors include brother Keith Oliver of Grand Junction, Colo.,  and Patricia Trone of Sheboygan, Wis.

Clint was preceded in death by his wife Virginia, his parents, and his sister Joan Weaver.

Funeral services were held Saturday, Oct. 10, 2015, at 1 p.m. at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Paradox. Interment followed the service in the Paradox Cemetery.
