Billy Don “Big” Carver, age 48, of Nucla, CO., who died from injuries sustained in an ATV accident in Nucla.  Billy was born December 21, 1966 to Preston Carver and Karen Anders in Carson City, Nevada.  The family moved to Nucla where Billy spent his childhood and graduated from Nucla High School.

Billy married his wife Charlotte on May 17, 1986 in Naturita, Colorado.  In September 9, 1988, at age 22, Billy enlisted in the United States Air Force and was honorably discharged in 1993, serving five years.

Billy loved and cared for his family!  His children were the light of his life, and enjoyed spending time with them.  He enjoyed the outdoors and the mountains surrounding him.  He often rode his ATV and loved to fish and hunt. He was a huge Denver Broncos fan!  Billy was a proud fan of the Norwood Mavericks Football and wrestling teams, and enjoyed watching them play. “You Bet”!

Survivors include his wife, Charlotte Carver of the family home in Nucla; father, Preston Carver of Nucla; mother Karen Anders-Goddard of Montrose; his son Cade Carver of Nucla; daughter Kaitlyn Carver of Grand Junction, Colorado; his two brothers Clay (Randi) Carver of Nucla and Ty Carver of Nucla; a sister Melody (Chris Colcord) of Monument, Colorado.  Billy was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Bill and Ida Carver, and Maternal grandparents Dan and Vi Anders.

Memorial contributions may be made to West End Sheriff’s Posse, c/o Jack Lee, P.O. Box 396, Paradox, Colorado 81424.  A Graveside Service was held on Monday, February 16, 2015 at 1:00 p.m. at Nucla Cemetery with Pastor Dan Williams officiating.  Arrangements are under the care of Crippin Funeral Home & Crematory, Montrose, Colorado.
