August “Gus” Kolb, 85, of Montrose, CO died March 15, 2017.

Gus was born September 12, 1931 in Glendale, NY. He served in the U.S. Marine Corp. during the Korean War as a rifle instructor on Parris Island, SC. Gus was a long-time resident of Long Island, NY before moving to Montrose. He was a lifetime member of the Elks Lodge # 2107 in New York and an associate member of Montrose Elks Lodge # 1052. Gus is survived by his beloved wife Elsie, son Glenn, daughter-in-law Julie, granddaughters Savannah and Brooklyn all of Montrose. Gus is also survived by a sister-in-law Marie Schwindt, brother-in-law Bill Specht and sister-in-law Mary Ann, all of New York.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Philip and Elizabeth Kolb, brothers Joseph, Philip, and Ben

No formal service will be held, Arrangements are under the direction of Crippin Funeral Home.
