Audrey G. Lowther died peacefully at home with her family at her side on October 13, 2015, a week after celebrating her 90th birthday.

Audrey was born in 1925 in Lansing, MI. to George Elias Green and Carrie Velma Green.  After graduating from Michigan State University in 1947 with a degree in bacteriology, she entered graduate school at the University of Michigan and worked in the University School of Medicine Internal Medicine Laboratory.  She married H. Vaughn in 1950 in Detroit, MI.  The couple raised five children in Glassboro, NJ but also lived in Naples, Italy for three years where Audrey led the family on many adventures with lasting memories.

Audrey is survived by a brother, Donald Green, of Hillman, MI, daughters, Kathy Devor (Dennis), Julie Lowther (Verlee) of Montrose, CO, and Christine Olinger (Craig) of Silver Spring, MD and grandchildren, Matt Devor (Kali) of Montrose, CO, Laura Devor of Denver, CO, Mark and Douglas Olinger of Silver Spring, MD.  She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, a brother, David Green, and her children Steven and Cheryl Lowther.

During her final years in NJ, Audrey enjoyed volunteering in the archeology department of the University of Pennsylvania museum cataloging artifacts .  Audrey and Vaughn retired to Montrose, CO in 1985.  Audrey loved to play bridge and was active in the Friends of the Ute Museum, the Hillcrest Congregational UCC, and was a member of Chapter FJ of the PEO Sisterhood.  She previously served as secretary of the Montrose Amateur Radio Club and reported the Montrose weather daily for many years on the ham radio weathernet using her call sign of NOJAB.

The family thanks HopeWest for helping Audrey spend her final months at home with those she loved.  A Memoria Service will be held Saturday, October 17th at 11:00 am at Crippin Funeral Home Chapel, Montrose, CO.  Memorial donations may be sent to HopeWest Hospice, P.O. Box 1804, Montrose, CO 81402.  Crippin Funeral Home & Crematory, in Montrose, Co. is assisting the family.
